Your body is calling you home
How many times have you felt like something was “off” but couldn’t quite define it so you brushed it off, only to realize the truth later?
How many times have you ignored your body’s signals because it was giving a different answer than everyone else, like “I really don’t want to do that, but I don’t want to upset anyone… so I’ll do it anyway.”
How many times have you felt a spark of interest, but your logical brain jumped in, telling you that you don’t have time to learn that new thing or start a hobby, or that it’s selfish to do things for yourself, or the thing you liked was kind of weird and you don’t want people to talk about you negatively?
How many times has your body been calling you?
The question I see and hear so often is people asking “what’s wrong with me?” Whether that’s in relation to wondering why you can’t seem to fit into the boxes that everyone else seems content to fit into, or whether it’s in relation to wondering why you’re never happy, why you feel anxious, why the days and weeks and months seem to drag on and you keep hoping for a change, to feel differently, to find joy… And my response is this: you’re asking the wrong question.
The question is not “what’s wrong with me?” The question is, “what do I long for?”
Our bodies are speaking to us all the time, and when we don’t listen, they often do whatever is needed to get our attention. In most cases, people take their physical pain and illness seriously. But, how often does anyone take their lack of joy or desire or sense of self or energetic alignment seriously, until it manifests as burn out, or fatigue, or resentment, or brain fog, or anxiety?
Isn’t it wild how listening to our bodies and living in alignment with ourselves is considered a luxury? Isn’t it wild how, in a world where we’re technically more connected than ever before, we’re actually more disconnected than ever before?
In Roots of Embodiment, we’ll begin by uncovering how to experience more good in your life, to value your play, rest, and creativity as much as your productivity, to identify your limiting beliefs, and to know what’s truly important to you, all so that you can get to know yourself better and then embody it.
And, we’ll explore this through self-reflection and understanding your body’s wisdom through mind-body movement, guided visualization, and simple take-home practices.
Being in tune with your body and living in alignment with your soul is not a luxury, it’s a lifeline.
Roots of Embodiment Framework
We move counterclockwise through the phases. There is a belief that counter-clockwise is a “spirit walk,” a search for answers, meaning, clarity, and understanding.

Roots of Embodiment
You’re longing to feel differently… to feel more confident in yourself and your decisions, to feel aligned (physically, mentally, emotionally, and energetically), to know yourself, to actually feel alive, rather than just going through the motions.
To be embodied is to be empowered, so let’s plant the roots of embodiment that lead to uncovering you: your joy, your desires, your relaxation, your boundaries, your priorities… your empowered self and aligned life.
We’ll do this through self-reflection and understanding the wisdom of the body.
1. Discover
2. Dissolve
3. Desire

4. Devote
5. Deepen
6. Design
The Dawn
The first three phases are part of THE DAWN.
THE DAWN is the first appearance of light, of a new day, of a new period of time in your life. It represents your new ideas, new ways of being, and your new perspective.
Your sensations and thoughts are getting clearer... you're starting to feel the spark.
1. Discover
This represents the beginning of knowing & trusting yourself. This phase plants the seeds to help you develop a deeper connection with yourself.
2. Dissolve
This represents the release. The intention is to create space within your body, mind, and life to therefore expand your capacity to receive good things, and to feel empowered.
3. Desire
This represents the reclamation. This phase invites you towards a deeper connection with your self, and helps you reclaim your play, creativity, and rest.
The Dark
The final three phases are part of THE DARK.
THE DARK is when you can live within the depth of yourself and feel connected and aligned. THE DARK is where the roots of yourself forms and grow; it’s where embodiment lives and you come alive.
Welcome home to yourself.
4. Devote
This phase is all about helping you create rituals vs. routines. The intention is to increase your self-awareness, and to lead with integrity and alignment.
5. Deepen
At this point, we’re experiencing a deeper mind-body connection. We deepen your feeling of being grounded, centred, and embodied.
6. Design
The final phase brings it all full circle. We recognize the threads, the vibrations, the guiding towards alignment. It is the reveal, led by your body, and you’re the designer.
What's Included in Roots of Embodiment

Guided Visualizations
From a place of relaxation, uncovering detailed mental images in your mind's eye to reveal what your logical brain may be keeping from you.
Self-Reflection
Using the power of writing, we'll go through journaling prompts, exercises, and reflective questions related to each phase.
Take-Home Practices
Learn tangible and actionable practices that you can begin integrating immediately to unlock transformation within each phase.

However, I encourage you to try your best to attend each week as the connection and practices in person will be most transformational.
What is Somatic Movement?
Somatics uses the mind-body connection to help you survey your internal self and listen to signals from your body on pain, discomfort, or imbalance.
Somatics can be bodywork or movement practices that focus on the internal physical perception and experience. The body is the "soma," and therefore somatics focuses on "the body as perceived from within."
Where is this located?
Studio 280, located at 280 Willow Street in Truro, NS.
(*This is located in the same building as the bus station, however there aren't any buses during the times of the workshop, so the environment will be quiet.)
Is sharing required?
No. At the end of each week, there will be open time for questions and discussion, however at no time will I ask or expect anyone to share what they've experienced or uncovered.
