In this video sequence, there is an emphasis on releasing the upper body, but the main focus is heart and throat opening, aka embracing vulnerability and speaking your truth.
Have you ever felt like you couldn’t say what you wanted to say? Let’s say there was a situation in your life or with your horse where you weren’t comfortable with something that was happening… but you didn’t feel as though you could speak up. It could be that you have stuck energy in your throat, or, a blocked throat chakra. That’s why it’s important to not only release tension in the neck and jaw but also to open the throat.
The same goes for your chest, upper back, and shoulders… they’re related to a blocked heart chakra, and opening those areas could help you embrace vulnerability, self-love, and compassion.
If we want to get technical with it, the vagus nerve controls the muscles of the throat. And, the vagus nerve represents the main component of the parasympathetic nervous system. So if your vagus nerve is out of whack (your throat is blocked with stuck energy), your parasympathetic nervous system (aka rest and digest) will be impacted and you’ll be more likely to be in your sympathetic nervous system (aka fight or flight).
Opening these areas can have big positive impacts on your life, but it can also very positively impact your partnership with your horse. We all want to advocate for ourselves and our horses, we want to feel self-love and compassion, we want to know and feel confident in our truth... opening your heart & throat chakra can help you get there.
What you get: A 19-minute upper body movement sequence. This video will guide you through releasing the shoulders & neck and opening up ease, range of motion, and relaxation in your shoulders, neck, chest, and throat.
